            Microsoft Office 2007 saw the introduction of the Ribbon, a user interface feature. It can be found below the Title Bar and the Quick Access Toolbar. There are seven tabs in total: Home, Insert, Mailing, References, Page Layout, Review, and View. There are multiple groupings of related commands on each tab. It provides you with easy access to the frequently used commands you require to finish a task.

Home Tab

In Microsoft Word, the Home tab is the default tab. The relevant commands are divided into five groups: Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, Styles, and Editing. It assists you in modifying several common document settings, such as font size, adding bullets, updating styles, and many more. You can also use it to get back to the document's home section.

Insert Tab

Microsoft Word's default tab is the Home tab. The five groups of related commands are Styles, Editing, Font, Paragraph, and Clipboard. It allows you to modify several common document settings, such as font size, bullet additions, style adjustments, and many more. Returning to the document's home section is also helpful.

Page Layout Tab

In the Ribbon, it is the third tab. You can adjust the page size, margins, line spacing, indentation, documentation orientation, and other design elements of your document using this tab. Themes, Page Setup, Page Background, Paragraph, and Arrange are the five categories of linked operations on the Page Layout tab.

References Tab


In the Ribbon, it is the fourth tab. You can insert bibliography commands, citations, and document sources with it. Moreover, it provides instructions for creating a table of contents, index, table of authorities, and table of contents. Table of Contents, Footnotes, Citations & Bibliography, Captions, Index, and Table of Authorities are the six sets of linked commands on the References tab.

Maillings Tab

It is located on the ribbon's fifth tab. Out of all the tabs available in the Ribbon, this one is the one that is used the least. You can use it to combine emails, write in and insert different fields, see the outcomes in advance, and convert files to PDF format. Five categories of related commands are available on the Mailings tab: Create, Start Mail Merge, Write & Insert Fields, Preview Results, and Finish.

Review Tab

In the Ribbon, it is the sixth tab. You can edit your manuscript with several key commands available on this tab. It assists you with article proofreading, commenting, tracking changes, and other tasks. Six related command groups are available on the Review tab: Proofing, Comments, Tracking, Changes, Compare, and Protect.

View Tab

Next to the Review tab is the View tab. You can flip between single-page and two-page displays with this tab. You can also use it to control different layout tools, such as rulers, guides, and boundaries. Its main objective is to provide you with many viewing options for your document. There are five related command groups on the View tab: Document Views, Show/Hide, Zoom, Window, and Macros.

Developer Tab
